Nottinghamshire-based pensions in insolvency specialist Clumber Consultancy held its annual golf day recently and raised thousands of pounds for its chosen charity for 2018.
Ten teams of keen golfers from the financial services sector enjoyed a day’s competition at Rufford Park Golf and Country Club. In doing so, they raised over £2500 for Sheffield-based charity for the homeless, Cathedral Archer Project (CAP). Eventual winners of the much coveted trophy were the team from Smith Cooper.
Darren Toms, Managing Director of Clumber Consultancy, said that the day was a great success: “This was our second annual golf day and we couldn’t have hoped for a better response to the event. Not only did everyone thoroughly enjoy themselves, but through their generosity we have raised an incredible amount of money. It will have an enormous impact on the people we are supporting through CAP’s engagement”.
“Our relationship with CAP will continue year-long and the team are taking part in numerous other fundraising activities, from half marathons, to bake -offs, with our showcase charity ball taking place in Birmingham on 25 October. We really want to help make a difference and hope the money raised will enable more people to access the services provided by CAP.”
Lynne Urpeth, Marketing and Development Manager at Cathedral Archer Project said: “The support that businesses like Clumber Consultancy give to us is vital to enable us to do the work we do within our community. From providing a hot meal, to helping our project users achieve the chance of employment, partnerships with local businesses have a crucial and lasting impact on so many. And we are very thankful for their support.”
